Dr. John La Puma is a board-certified internationally recognized internist. He’s been called “a secret weapon” by The Wall Street Journal and is a regular health, nutrition, and culinary medical contributor in the national media. Dr. La Puma is also the Clinical Director and Founder of Chef Clinic. He’s a professionally trained chef, an organic and regenerative avocado farmer, and a New York Times best-selling author. He has led clinical trials of nutritional interventions designed to improve burnout, obesity, hypertension, osteoarthritis, insomnia, and diabetes, and he has pioneered culinary medicine. His mission is to help you get measurably healthier with what you eat and how you live.
Dr. La Puma has co-hosted 100+ episodes of Lifetime TV’s “Health Corner”, most recently with Joan Lunden and Leeza Gibbons, and hosted weekly “Chef MD” TV segments on Lifetime TV for nearly five years. He’s also been a guest on top shows like Dr. Oz, The Today Show, and Good Morning America, and has been featured in hundreds of print and online publications. Dr. La Puma performed his residency in internal medicine at West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center and UCLA and completed the first postgraduate fellowship in general internal medicine and clinical medical ethics in the US at the University of Chicago.
