It is written,
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,” (2 Cor 10:3-5).
Beloved, there is a pervasive culture of speculation—a stronghold, a fortress built on questioning what Jesus and His apostles might have said or done instead of reverently adhering to the Word itself. This episode addresses the need for a holy reverence and unwavering response to the true words and deeds of Jesus and the apostles as recorded in the New Testament.
Speculation about God's Word does not lead to transformation, radical obedience, or spiritual edification. True change and empowerment come from hearing the Word in faith and responding with action. The Lord is jealous for His people and His Word. It is time for the fortress of speculation to crumble under the fire of His righteous jealousy.
