Part 1 of this 2 part episode series could feel a tad uncomfortable for some–but validating for many. Oftentimes, when we hear the word “abuse” we think “ugh, I don’t like that word,” “people overuse and abuse the word ‘abuse,’” or “people who use that word are being victim-y and can’t get over the past”. This is a topic we cover in-depth in my programs but for the purpose of this episode, you’ll still come to discover a high-touch, general definition of abuse. You’ll see that if this applies to you, that you can talk about “Your Lived Experience” from an empowered space. In this episode you’ll learn the definition of emotional abuse, every-day examples of abuse (some might surprise you), and the distinction between behaviors and attitudes. My hope is for you to leave this episode feeling witnessed, validated, and empowered enough to create enough safety within to set boundaries where appropriate in your intimate and other relationships. This work moves us all closer towards living into our authentic self.
