When I work with clients, I use a process called "shaping" to establish new fitness routines or repair old ones. Shaping requires my clients/athletes to GRADUALLY work towards an "ideal" or targeted fitness routine that he or she can maintain over the long haul.
I document this process with extensive data collection, feedback, and regular coaching meetings to build any fitness routine.
