On this episode of the Blind Tiger Record Club Podcast, David W. Williams welcomes back Kevin Lee as the second half of Season 5 officially kicks off with a discussion of the Blind Tiger Record Club's September Records of the Month. We discuss all four styles of the B.T.R.C. Records of the Month - Singer Songwriter, Rock & Alternative, Jazz Soul & Blues, and Classics. Normally, each style would have its own club episode, but this month, we have them all combined in one show. We discuss new releases and reissues from Amanda Shires, The Interrupters, Ray Charles, and David Bowie. The albums from these artists are discussed and clips of songs from the albums are played. We talk about the amazing vocal production on Take It Like A Man as Shires works with producer Lawrence Rothman. We also discuss featured artists including Jason Isbell, Maren Morris, and Brittney Spencer. We talk about how The Interrupters In The Wild is a great follow up to 2018's Fight The Good Fight. We also discuss how the band really finds a balance with their alternative punk style and their Ska sound. We discuss the social relevance of Charles' a message from the people, and how his call to action still lifted up his highest ideals of America and were full of hope and inspiration. We talk about the amazing fact that Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars has only been certified Gold even though its full of songs that have become classic rock standards and have been synced in countless films. We also briefly discuss R.E.M.'s new milestone with the song "Losing My Religion" and a new collection from the world of James Bond that you do not want to miss. Here are the albums included in this episode of the Blind Tiger Record Club Podcast:
