"Stop Stealing Stuff"
40 steps closer, today's step:
Don't steal and reject the hold of greed.
“You shall not steal.”
Exodus 20:15
"Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of his making."
Proverbs 16:11
When do you find yourself at the mercy of others? It's common for us to be in a situation where we depend on the integrity of others.
Who is dependent upon your integrity? How we go about our work and lives matters- this is a part of the command not to steal.
Paul felt the need to address thieves in Ephesians 4. The presence of theives in the church shows that the gospel was shared with them and they came to join in the move of God. The advice is to stop stealing and work instead SO THAT we can share with those in need. Generosity is part of breaking the power of greed.
There is hope for the whole community of sinners- hope in Jesus Christ. He paid the price for all our sin and we have hope in him.
