Dr. Lisa Mathew interviews Dr. Vasu Appaleneni, a practicing gastroenterologist at Dayton Gastroenterology, and executive vice president of clinical innovation at One GI, a physician-led managed services organization. Dr. Appalaneni knew she would become a physician from an early age, and her entrepreneurial spirit led her to private practice gastroenterology, where she enjoys being able to care for patients, being a business owner, and providing employment opportunities in her community. Her interest in the business of healthcare led to her involvement in mergers with other local GI groups, and eventually being a part of the team that led the process of Dayton Gastroenterology joining One GI. Join Dr. Mathew and Dr. Appalaneni to hear how these experiences influenced Dr. Appalaneni's decision to pursue an executive MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and why she thinks a business degree is something independent GI physicians should consider. Produced by Andrew Sousa and Hayden Margolis for Steadfast Collaborative, LLC Mixed and mastered by Hayden Margolis Gastro Broadcast, Episode 42
