QUOTE OF THE DAY:

If we think of our main "tool" as the gift of listening, of being non-judgemental, giving a person space to open out, our mind will settle and allow us to access our inner wisdom to know what to do. Dr Rani Bora 2022

In this episode of Hang up your Superhero Cape I am speaking with Dr Rani Bora. A conversation with a Consultant Psychiatrist and Transformative Coach about looking after ourselves with self-compassion, taking a Lifestyle Medicine approach, as well as the power of listening to ourselves and our patients.

Dr Rani Bora is a Holistic Psychiatrist, wellness coach and speaker. She is also the author of a self-published book - “How To Turn Stress On Its Head”. She has studied and trained in a number of integrative wellbeing and coaching approaches. Her passion is prevention of mental ill-health and she is a strong advocate for empowering patients, peer support and personal recovery. She brings her coaching expertise and knowledge into her clinical practice.

Rani has written several self-help booklets for patients around wellbeing including a booklet for Rethink called “Coaching for Recovery”. She helped set up a Recovery College in Somerset and in the past has co-facilitated several courses for the college with people of lived experience of mental health difficulties. She also has an online membership “The Thriving Professional” for busy professionals wanting to learn about innate health and wellbeing. Together with her husband, Suraj, she also runs the “Mental Wealth Mastery” membership community for professionals, coaches and therapists helping them transform the lives of people with mental health difficulties.
