Today’s guest is James Hilterbrand more commonly known by his nickname Cecil. James had the dream of being a professional athlete and this dream came true as he played professional rugby all around the world.
A young boy growing up in Adelaide with a passion for Rugby Union wasn’t going to be easy as Adelaide is more commonly known as an Australian rules or soccer state. This didn’t stop James from following his passion for Rugby Union. He joined just one of the few local rugby clubs at a young age and off he went.
He has played Super Rugby, competition in Europe and the United States and now still playing for the Manly Marlins. James shares great insight on some of the darker/ challenging moments along the way. Going through these times and reflexing on them has taught him a lot about himself and how to overcome challenges he may face throughout life.
James is still playing for the Manly Marlins and loves it. Equally as important to him now is giving back and helping the next generation to achieve their dreams in playing Rugby. He now coaches some of the rugby teams in the local area and worked for family owned apparel company base on the Northern Beaches @paladiunsports_aus and just loves it as it gives him an opportunity to help sporting organisations at all levels.
