In this show, I talk with Christine about her work as a connector and storyteller in growing a bioregional, place-based business around sustainable flowers. She connects local farmers to a market of designers like herself that begin cultivating an awareness of some incredible benefits of sourcing locally in their work. We have enjoyed her work and story since we met many years back when we were vendors at the same farmer's market together. We later got the chance to integrate her incredible floral design for our own wedding. Listen to the full conversation to learn more about her and crafting a creative livelihood that can be applied to just about any kind of value based business.

Christine Hoffman runs Foxglove Market, the Twin Cities first exclusively local and chemical-free florist, Foxglove is more than just a flower studio. Christine is a slow flowers advocate striving to form a strong community of sustainable flower farmers, small business owners, and folks who care about supporting these mindful endeavors. By providing a local, sustainable option to traditional flowers, putting a premium on collaboration, and reaching out to the community, I hope to foster change. Her design world does not necessarily differentiate between flower, flora, weed, herb, or edible. Rather, these elements all merge at a lovely and intriguing intersection of flowers, food, and found objects. Everything interacts and is connected, just like the natural world. Her work is about creating an environment, evoking feelings, and finding beauty in the unexpected. Learn more at: Foxglove Market > and on Instagram at @foxglovemarket
