Part-Time Fanboy Podcast: Ep 495 John Barber and Andrew Lee Griffith Launch a Mecha Sci-Fi Adventure With SIGNA!

John Barber and Andrew Lee Griffith are a pair of comic creators with a plethora of comic book credits between them. John has been an editor at both IDW and Marvel Comics and has written on titles as varied as Spider-Man, Back to the Future, And G.I. Joe. Andrew has written and illustrated for The Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Star Wars. While at IDW, they found that they enjoyed working together and decided to create their own project. The result is SIGNA…a star spanning sci-fi epic currently funding on Kickstarter that features humans piloting giant mecha and scrambling for survival in a universe that’s reminiscent of sci-fi classics like The Expanse or Battlestar Galactica. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with John and Andrew about going out on their own, what it was like for them to work outside of the restrictions of an existing IP, and how having the freedom to explore their own ideas wasn’t as easy as they thought it might be!
