Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussion of trauma, including suicide and sexual abuse.

Have you ever been in a crazy stressful situation and felt yourself pushing down the rage, fear, and general UGHGHHGRRRRR inside of you, blocking it out in the moment to get through whatever’s happening?

That’s dissociation, and it’s a common response to traumas both small (work confrontations) and large (abuse of all kinds) that can dull our sacral cues.

And I’m talking it out today with Safrianna Lughna, who wears so many hats as an author, counselor, speaker, Queer-Spirit Guide, founder of Living LUNA, and a 6/2 Sacral Manifesting Generator.

In this episode, we’re getting into:

  • what dissociation IS exactly, along with the spectrum of dissociative responses and the signs that you might be experiencing it
  • why there’s an extra layer to healing if you are part of the LGBTQ community, and how you can give yourself space to acknowledge this
  • how to “tiptoe in” and start recognizing and feeling your body again through simple movement
  • breaking free of the loop of emotions and thoughts and **finding safety to feel your sacral responses again
  • why taking a walk can be one of the best and easiest ways to let your brain process emotions and information — plus, Safrianna’s quick go-to exercise to connect with your environment!

Safrianna says she loves to “help people flip the script and not be controlled by their trauma history anymore,” and I really think this episode will be a revelation to so many of you. Find a quiet space for this one, and take a listen!
