Have you've ever wondered about Kentucky’s role in the landmark case, Obergefell v. Hodges? The landmark case held that the fundamental right of marriage also applied to same-sex marriages and ruled that state bans on same-sex marriage were unconstitutional. This made "gay marriage" legal in all 50 states. Well, it actually went to the Supreme Court due to a split between the circuits as to the laws constitutionality, and Greg Bourke was one of the named plaintiffs in Bourke v. Beshear, the Kentucky case that was eventually consolidated into Obergefell v. Hodges.

In this episode, Kurtis sits down with Greg Bourke, author of "Gay, Catholic, and American" and plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court ruling that overturned same-sex marriage bans in the United States and discusses his life, partner, raising children, time of advocacy in the Catholic Church and The Boy Scouts of America.
