Dr Mike Joy is a New Zealand freshwater ecologist and science communicator. He is currently employed at the Institute for Governance and Policy Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. In 2013 he won the Charles Fleming Award for Environmental Achievement and the Forest and Birds Old Blue Award in 2011. We discuss New Zealand's dwindling Fresh Water Habitats and the impact of modern intense farming.
