Ricky Thompson who born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, soon found himself discovering a new home which was not in his best interest. GME Jay also known as Jordan began what he didn’t know yet to be a career around the age of 8 years old. Only being in the second grade, he developed a passion for writing music. Seeking influence from legendary artists such as Lil Boosie and Webbie, he found himself in a creative world of things he had not yet lived. His mother, who had not grown into his style of music, was still always supportive hoping that he would find a deeper voice in music. GME Jay describes his personal connection to being an artist as well. His uncle who would always rap and freestyle encouraged him to chase his dream as a rapper.
