I am so glad to have the opportunity to interview my friend in yoga and life, Margaret Kirschner. I met Margaret over 10 years ago in my beloved little city of Asheville, NC, and am so glad to have made such wonderful connections during my years there, and Margaret is one of the wise women of that special mountain town.
Margaret is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Certified Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Therapist (E-RYT 500 C-IAYT), as well as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS), Breathwork Facilitator, and Birth Doula.

Margaret’s professional background includes 7 years of training, supervision, and direct client contact in addiction counseling. She specializes in guiding individuals’ mindful emergence into wholeness through trauma-sensitive, safe, therapeutic movement, mindfulness, and Integrative Breathwork.

With 21 years of experience as a yoga teacher, Margaret offers a multi-dimensional approach to thriving and growing. She safely supports individuals in learning to listen to and trust their body’s limitswhile also bringing an attitude of curiosity toward possibilities.

Her topic today is how Simultaneous Complementary Actions Initiate Wholeness.
The slow, mindful movement combined with conscious breathing and awareness of one's thoughts and sensations inspire a healing response because of their simultaneous and complementary mechanisms of action. Moving, breathing, and being aware of oneself are innate skills we already have. When we add them together and are consciously intending to attune to the subtle interactions, we create a holistic influence on our whole system.

The body, mind, and spiritual orientation tend to move toward cooperation and unintegrated parts begin to move toward wholeness. Pain can reduce, but even more importantly, suffering can lessen. We already own the inner technology, we need to know how to use it.
