In this episode, we review an article from the Nov 1960 issue of The Bulletin of the San Diego Medical Society.
In October 1960, the 8th Congress of the Pan Pacific Surgical Association was held in Honolulu. Dr. Howard B. Kirtland, Jr and about 1800 surgeons from around the pacific attended this conference. Dr. Kirtland writes that many of the visitors to Hawaii experienced Polynesian Paralysis which produced "a disinclination to hurry and an overwhelming desire to cast away the worries of the past and future and enjoy the moment."
