Sultan Salah is an experienced practitioner and educator in the areas of Ayurveda, holistic healthcare, natural healing, and integrative medicine. He has 6 years experience teaching and developing academic curricula and has developed 2 of the nation’s accredited degree programs in Ayurveda at Maharishi International University.

Sultan has studied Ayurveda for over a decade. He's also received extensive training in the following areas: nutrition, anatomy and physiology, herbology, and physical therapy. He is a passionate speaker, teacher, and student of the health sciences - blending practical experience with his breadth of knowledge. He has completed clinical training in India and has earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Ayurveda and Integrative Healthcare.

Sultan currently consults as an Ayurvedic Healthcare Specialist though his business, Ayurveda for the Soul (Sultan's current home base is Santa Monica, CA), where he offers client consultations in restoring balance and Vedic counseling and couching. A sampling of his services include:

  • unraveling abstract mental health issues;
  • navigating major life decisions;
  • dharma coaching - how to discover and evolve in your purpose;
  • trauma work;
  • support for mental, spiritual, emotional healing and evolution;
  • teaching and facilitating your direct experience of the subtle forces and energies that are at play in your mind-body.

Highlights of my interview with Sultan:

  • "Ayurveda is a cosmic science because it was born of the consciousness of rishis or we could say sages or saints as opposed to modern medicine which uses objective scientific research."
  • "Essentially, you are not your mind or body. You are your jiva, a Sanskrit word for soul. When you incarnate into a human being, you are incarnating into five layers – the pancha maya kosha - which are the five subtle bodies."
  • "Herbs and diet are a wonderful part of Ayurveda, but the ability to directly perceive and engage with the more subtle dimensions of the client I am working with is much more profound in terms of the healing. To be able to interface with the subtle bodies in one of the deeper aspects of Ayurveda."
  • "According to the literature, Ayurveda is the Science of Life. There is no implication that this means the Science of Heath. It certainly is one part of it. The majority of the literature of family lines that are still going today speak to health more than anything else. One of the great Vaidyas told me that the literature on Ayurveda and health is very small. In the Vedic literature, it is described that when Brahman (the Creator) finished creating the universe, Brahman remembered Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the blueprint of creation. It is like the software of the hardware of the universe. It is said that when Brahman remembers Ayurveda, he enters into discourse with Lord Shiva and relearns all the nuances and details of this cosmic science. Again Ayurveda is not a medical science and is not even a science exclusive to our planet."
  • "Ayurveda is very clear that there is one ultimate cause of all disease: pragyapradh, a lack of remembering of who we really are. It essentially means “mistakenly understanding creation as being something other than what it really is.” Pragyapradh – which is essentially lack of enlightenment – really is the cause of all disease.
