The 2009 Murder of 66 year old Doris Babcock in Dunnellon, Florida Committed by 19 year old Zachary Lee Snyder. On the evening of November 14, 2009, Marion County Sheriff's Office was contacted by long haul truck driver Cecil Babcock, who was requesting a welfare check on his wife, Doris, who he was unable to get a hold of for more than a day, which was very unusual. Deputies arrived to find an ominous scene along with a plume of smoke rising from a fire pit located in the backyard of the home. There was a young man inside the house, there, according to him, looking for Miss Doris, but also taking care of a few chores for since he was there. As innocent and unassuming as the teenager at the Babcock home appeared, there was definitely something off about the whole scene...especially when it came to the source of that smoke plume surrounding the home.
