Are perennial crops the future and can they help soil, climate, nutrition and biodiversity all at the same time!

If you’re interested in future food security and growing your own veg that you put in the ground once and reap the rewards year after year tune in to this week’s guest Mandy Barber, co-founder of Incredible Vegetables, an experimental vegetable growing project and a research space dedicated to useful perennial edibles and future food crops.
Mandy was a successful artist in London, but it was starting to feel a bit cliquey and stale, and when, 14 years ago she was lucky enough to buy a share of a piece of land she jumped at the chance.
One perennial vegetable plant led to another and within a couple of years people were asking to buy plants from her, that is how Incredible vegetables was born.
There are so few people/companies growing perennial vegetable plants in the UK, it soon became evident that she was filling a niche, a huge demand for the plants. And every plant she sends out is a contribution to the survival of that plant species, which if they are taken care of will survive into the future.
They ARE the plants that are going to feed and sustain us in the future.
Tune in to find out how you can grow and eat your way to a healthier you and a healthier planet.
