What are the different levels of fat? It can be hard to understand what someone means when they say "fat" because everyone has their version. You have probably heard terms like "straight-sized", "plus-sized," "small fat," "infinifat," and so on — or "Fategories."

Oh, wait. "Fategories"? Is there such a thing? You might wonder, "Why do we need these terms?"
In this episode, we will dive into that based on Linda's work from Fluffy Kitten Party. Let's talk about the diverse experiences of each level, such as weight stigma, criticisms, sizes, accessibility, and more.
Tune in, and let's have a bit of understanding and awareness about the different levels of fat and the appropriate terms to use — words that feel right for you.
I will put the link below because there is way more in this blog post that Linda has written.
Also, we'll touch on a term you might find interesting; "Death Fat," by Leslie Kinzel in 2008, where she talks about her experience of being morbidly fat on the BMI scale. Please stick with me because there's more to that. Check out Lesley's blog post below for the full story behind this term.

A quick heads up - my transcriptions are automatically generated. I do not type them manually. For this reason there may be errors, incorrect words, bad spelling, bad grammar, and other things that just seem a little 'off'. You'll still be able to understand what is being said though, so please just ignore that and enjoy the episode.
