As one of the most travelled pilgrim trails in the world, the Camino Frances route of the Camino de Santiago is an unforgettable experience rich with history, culture and community. In 784km, the Camino Frances journeys from St Jean-Pied-de-Port in southern France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain and visits some of Spain's most important artistic, architectural and religious sites.

In this episode of highlights from our Cicerone Live event, Cicerone author Sandy Brown provides an overview of the route and the pilgrim experience, while Ivar Rekve offers his insights gained from running the successful Camino Forum and shares updates on the renovations to the Cathedral of Santiago. Sandy and Ivar discuss the delights of the route as well as practicalities including accommodation options and the best time of year to walk the Camino Frances.

Find out more about Sandy's guidebook to the Camino Frances on the Cicerone website, https://www.cicerone.co.uk/camino-de-santiago-camino-frances-second, and read more about his pilgrim adventures on his blog, https://caminoist.org/.
